Dr King, a social conservative?
Dr. Alveda King, full-time Director of African American Outreach for Priests for Life and niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., said today that advice columns written by her uncle for Ebony magazine in 1957-58 reveal a man who today would be regarded as a ‘social conservative’. "In advising men and women on questions of personal behavior 50 years ago, Uncle Martin sounded no different than a conservative Christian preacher does now," said Dr. King. "He was pro-life, pro-abstinence before marriage…and based his views…on the unchanging Word of the Bible. Today, Planned Parenthood would condemn Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as part of the ‘religious right.'"

First, thousands of blackbirds fell out of the sky on New Year's Eve in Arkansas. In recent days, seems like we are hearing that ‘wildlife’ including birds and fish are dying in record numbers. The reality: biologists internationally say that these mass ‘wildlife die-offs’ happen all the time and usually are unrelated. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20110107/D9KJBL780.html
The new value of vinyl? Despite the popularity of digital downloads, vinyl was the record industry's only growth industry in 2010. Sales of the formerly most popular music playback medium increased by 14% last year. That means good things for ‘Remember When’ Records on High Point Road in Greensboro. They are the largest record store in North Carolina that specializes in selling vinyl. Record buyers seem to be favoring classic artists. The Beatles "Abbey Road" was the best-selling vinyl album last year. Fox 8
No ‘LUCK’ for the Carolina Panthers. Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck announcing on Thursday that he will stay in school and get his degree. The Carolina Panthers, the NFL’s worst team, will get the number one overall pick in the NFL Draft.
