The Winston-Salem Salvation Army is accepting applications for Christmas assistance starting today and runs through Saturday. More than 2,700 families received food, clothing and toys last Christmas through the area Salvation Army. Clothing designer, Mr. Blackwell, whose annual worst-dressed list alerted the fashion police on many celebrities has died. Mr. Blackwell was 86. Over 1,000 people in 3 locations spent a portion of their Sunday afternoon helping fight hunger. So far, $53,000 dollars have been pledged to help fight hunger through the Forsyth County CROP Walk. This year’s goal was $66,000. http://www.crisiscontrol.org/
