The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to vote tonight on whether to appeal a federal-court ruling that stopped sectarian prayer, or prayers to a specific deity such as Jesus, before board meetings. Currently, the board is split 3-3, with the tie breaker coming down to board Chairman Dave Plyler. The NC Partnership for Religious Liberty, headed by Pastor Steve Corts, is pledging to cover any legal costs to help Forsyth county appeal the case.

As the spread of H1N1 (or Swine) flu eases, two more major hospitals in the Piedmont are easing their ban on children visiting patient rooms. Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and Lexington Memorial Hospital are lifting the restrictions today. Restrictions on visitors under age 18 have been in place since October, when hospitals acted to slow the spread of swine flu.

Students and teachers are returning back to class this morning at Oak Ridge Elementary school. The school has been closed since last summer due to health concerns.

AUTHORITIES IN TEXAS HAVE ARRESTED TWO MEN IN CONNECTION WITH ONE CHURCH FIRE…AND BELIEVE THE TWO SUSPECTS MAY BE CONNECTED TO NINE OTHER CHURCH FIRES. The suspects are 19 and 21-years old. Investigators say DNA evidence collected at the site of one of several Texas churches destroyed by arson links one of two suspects to the blaze…more charges are pending. The first of ten church arsons in East Texas was set back on January first. The investigation is ongoing.

If you haven't heard, big changes go into are here for the credit card industry. On Monday the CARD act goes into effect and consumers finally get some relief from such practices as "double-cycle billing" and arbitrary rate increases. The new act, which was signed into law last May, promises consumers more transparency about their credit card bill. But cardholders still need to watch out for a whole new series of traps and tricks.

C-PAC, THE ANNUAL GATHERING OF CONSERVATIVE POLITICAL LEADERS, HAS CONDUCTED ITS PRESIDENTIAL STRAW POLL FOR 2010. The winner of the annual contest this year was U.S. Representative Ron Paul, of Texas. Coming in second was former Massachusetts Governor and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Taking the third place spot was former Alaska Governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. When asked what issues were the most important to them, CPAC attendees listed reducing the size and spending of the federal government. Those two issues were followed, in order, by the war on terrorism, lowering taxes, and doing away with abortion

A rare night time landing by the crew aboard Space Shuttle Endeavour on Sunday. Part of that mission was to install an observation deck on the International Space Station. The new observation deck provides a 360 degree view of space through seven windows. The crew of Endeavour traveled five-point-seven million miles during their 14 day mission. Talk about your frequent flier miles.
