The wind will likley NOT be a friend to firefighters battling brush fires across the state. An estimated 200 wildfires have broken out across North Carolina since the weekend. The Lowgap fire in Surry County has consumed more than 600 acres. A fire burning near Chimney Rock State Park now covers nearly 300 acres in Polk and Rutherford counties.

Guilford County School officials hearing from parents last night about the option of staggering bus routes and school openings for next school year. The current proposal could save the district at least $1 million dollars. The school board hopes to make a decision by the end of the month. A second meeting is scheduled for 6:30 tonight at Page High School in Greensboro. New research from the Barna Group finding that up to 43% of adult consumers said they'd be more likely to do business with a company that either embraced or operated under Christian principles. Researchers also discovered that between 22 and 27 percent of consumers expressed a strong interest in buying from Christian-influenced businesses.
