Today is the last day of November…
Today is also the end of the Atlantic Hurricane Season. There were 9 named storms, compared to 27 named storms in 2005. (weather.com)

Typhoon Durian with winds of 145 mph is now making landfall over the northern Philippines. Damaging winds, flooding and mudslides expected…This marks the 5th Typhoon to hit the Philippines this year and the 4th major Typhoon to strike the Island Nation. (weather.com)

A major winter storm over the central states is bringing rain, thunderstorms, ice, snow, and wind. Another storm system will continue to spread rain and snow across the Pacific Northwest today. On Friday, snow will spread into Lower Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. Severe thunderstorms will also be possible over the Lower Ohio River Valley. (weather.com)

Several Northwest Middle School students suffered minor injuries on their way to school yesterday morning when their bus was rear-ended by a van. The accident happened around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Hanes Mill Road and University Parkway. Four students were taken to Forsyth Hospital and three to Baptist Hospital. (WS Journal)
Cant’ make the trip to Jacksonville, Florida for the ACC Championship college football game with Wake Forest and Georgia Tech? Come to the Joel Coliseum and watch the football game on the big screens with a couple thousand other Deacon fans this Saturday. The Joel will be open at 12:30…the football game starts at 1pm. Wake students get in free with their student ID. Everyone else $5 dollars to see the football game on the big screens at the Joel. The Men’s basketball team plays at 5pm. (journalnow.com)

A trainer was injured during a show yesterday at SeaWorld Adventure Park in San Diego…after Shamu the killer whale grabbed his foot and pulled him underwater twice. The 39-year-old trainer was taken to a hospital and was listed in good condition.
The mishap occurred around 5 p.m. when the trainer and Shamu were to go underwater as planned. They were to emerge with the trainer jumping off the whale's nose. "While underwater, the whale opened its mouth and grabbed his foot and kept him underwater for a period of time." When both came up for air, the trainer attempted to calm Shamu by gently rubbing it, but the whale took him down a second time. The whale eventually released his grip, and the trainer managed to swim away. (CNN)

The lead singer of the children's group The Wiggles has announced that he will stop performing because of an illness. Greg Page (the Yellow shirted Wiggle) said he has been suffering from a condition called
or-tho-static intolerance…symptoms include dizziness, fatigue and nausea. Page said that the illness is not life threatening but would be with him for the rest of his life.Page helped found The Wiggles in 1991 while studying early childhood education at a university in Sydney.The Wiggles were Australia's top-earning entertainers last year…grossing $39 million dollars in 2005.
