The Boulder County DA in Colorado have cleared the family of JonBenet Ramsey based on new ‘touch’ DNA testing. The 6-year-old pageant contestant was murdered in December of 1996. Her mother, Patsy Ramsey lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 2006.

The Natural Science Center in Greensboro lost two of its most beloved family members. Beau and Jambi (The center’s two Gibbon monkeys) were taken for their annual exam and vaccinations yesterday…placed under anesthesia and never woke back up. An autopsy (or necropsy) is being done.

‘Square’ watermelons in Japan? True. Farmers are growing watermelons in glass boxes and the fruit then naturally assumes the same shape. The square watermelons are hand-picked and shipped all over Japan. Each melon sells for 10,000 yen (or about $83 dollars)…almost double, or even triple, that of a normal oval watermelon.

Weather permitting, Lindley Park Pool will host the 50th annual Greensboro City Swim Meet starting this morning. Events continue through Saturday night. When the meet started in 1958, seven swim clubs participated. This year, organizers are expecting 23 teams and more than 2,500 athletes to compete.
