A funeral service has been set for Matt Gfeller who passed away early Sunday morning after suffering a serious head injury during a play in the fourth quarter of Friday night's High School Football game against RJ Reynolds and Greensboro Page High School. The memorial service is set for Wednesday afternoon (4pm) at Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons. No visitation is planned on Tuesday. THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION OPENS IN DENVER THIS EVENING. Over the weekend, Barack Obama named Senator Joseph Biden as his running mate. Biden is scheduled to address the Convention on Wednesday. Obama is scheduled to accept that nomination on Thursday.

THE 2008 SUMMER OLYMPICS IN BEIJING has ended with the US taking home a total of 110 medals…36 were Gold, 38 were Silver, and another 36 were Bronze. Chinese athletes won a total of 100 medals, 51 of which were Gold. The 2012 Summer Olympics will be held in London.
