A new world record was set at Carowinds over the weekend…for the most people dyeing Easter eggs. Officials with Guinness World Records were on hand to watch 317 people dipping and dying Easter eggs on Saturday at Carowinds. At the movies: The animated family adventure “Rio” remains at #1 for a second straight week  New from Disney, the nature documentary "African Cats," opened at #6…and "Soul Surfer” (the inspirational true story of Bethany Hamilton) landing at #7.

Lance Armstrong will be the Commencement speaker at High Point University’s graduation on May 7th.

The daughter of an elderly woman who passed away this weekend has been arrested…after police were tipped off that abuse may have played a role in the mother's death. Detectives began investigating reports of possible abuse after 92 year old Mildred Ballard passed away on Saturday. The daughter, Nannie Kollar, the victim's daughter and caregiver, was arrested Sunday after investigators found evidence of abuse and neglect. North Carolina's largest recycling machine is located in Davidson County. The big green machine, as it’s called, both in concept and in color, can separate glass, paper, metal, plastic and more. The machine itself covers 30,000 square feet and can bale 50 tons of recyclable material an hour. The North Davidson Recycling Facility a division of North Davidson Garbage is located on Old Highway 52, north of Lexington. It’s being called a miracle!! The most powerful tornado to hit the St Louis area in 44 years on Friday night leaves behind lots of ‘physical damage’…but no loss of life. Update: Hundreds of families are continuing to clean up after storm damage that hit our state a little over a week ago. Officials in wake County are moving 160 displaced families from church and school shelters into apartment style housing on the campus of NC State University.  About half of the homeless are children. Northern Davidson County (Arcadia community) Road closed…
Enterprise Road near Deerfield Court will be closed for the next three weeks because of road construction. (Crews are replacing a pipe).  FYI: The road closure is closer to the Highway 150 side of Enterprise Road and will remain closed until (Friday) May 13th . Detour signs have been posted.
