According to preliminary autopsy reports…the 17-year-old South Stokes High School student who collapsed on Tuesday died of congenital heart condition. This heart condition is one of the leading causes of sudden death in young people ages 15 to 30. (journalnow.com)

Big announcement from Thomas Built Buses yesterday…they will undergo an extreme makeover. A $10 million dollar renovation to its plant in High Point will begin later this month and be completed in January 2008.

Beginning in January, the City of Winston-Salem will begin replacing water and sewer lines that serve hundreds of houses in the city's West End neighborhood. Construction will take about a year-and-a-half to complete. During the project, residents will not be able to park along the street and some streets will be temporarily closed. After the sewer lines are replaced, the roads will be resurfaced. (FOX 8 journalnow.com)

Federal health officials are now saying that lettuce was likely the source of an E. coli outbreak linked to Taco Bell. 71 people have become sick in five states. Taco Bell had originally said that contaminated green onions were responsible for the cases of food poisoning…Federal testing now points to lettuce. (CNN)
Peter Boyle, best known as the crusty old dad on the long running sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond," has died. Boyle had been suffering from heart disease. He was 71.

Senator Tim Johnson, Democrat from South Dakota, underwent brain surgery early this morning after suffering stroke-like symptoms.
Should Johnson not be able to complete his term, which ends in 2008, South Dakota Gov. Mike Rounds, a Republican, could appoint his replacement (likely a Republican) -- which could shift the balance of power in the Senate to 50-50. With Dick Chaney voting to break ties. (CNN)
