Still listed in Critical Condition: Donald Daniels, who sells papers for the Winston-Salem Journal, was struck by a tractor-trailer at the Stratford Road exit ramp off Silas Creek Parkway just before lunchtime on Thursday . Police said that Daniels wasn't able to move out of the way of the oncoming tractor-trailer because he is disabled. Daniels was taken to Baptist Medical Center, where he is still listed in critical condition (as of 9am Friday morning).
-Daniels was injured several years ago after falling while hanging Christmas lights. The fall left him disabled and unable to work. That's when Daniels turned to selling papers. The driver of the truck has not been charged. BTW: Amy, a WBFJ listener, says that she has seen Donald on the corner selling news papers for several years on her way into work. There is a bouquet of roses and a balloon where he usually works. www.wxii12.com/news/27872354/detail.html#ixzz1ME9ivWGJ
