Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop over the mountains and foothills after lunchtime …then move east into the Piedmont later this afternoon.

Non-profits with Revenues below $25,000 dollars must take action by this Saturday (May 15) to preserve their Tax-Exempt status. Because of some changes passed by Congress, ALL non-profits must file a form with the IRS. For many small nonprofits with annual revenues below $25,000, that means filing an electronic version of IRS form 990-N (also known as the ePostcard) by May 15. Facebook is rolling out new security features. To combat malicious attacks, scams and spam, some of the additions to facebook security…
-You can ask to be notified by e-mail or text message when your account is accessed from a computer or mobile device you haven't used before.
-Users will also be able to check where the latest log-ins have come from.
-Facebook is also adding roadblocks when it notices unusual activity, such as simultaneous log-ins from opposite sides of the planet.
Some of these changes are already available, while others are still being tested and will launch over the next few weeks.

NASA is fueling up space shuttle Atlantis for its final journey, a delivery trip to the International Space Station. Good weather is expected around 2:20pm lift off time this afternoon.

A 4-year-old is in stable condition after being bitten by a pit bull on Wednesday. The incident on Nance Avenue in High Point. The 4 year old was playing with a neighbor when the child went into the dog's area and fell. The pit-bull mix dog then attacked the child. The dog has been taken to the Guilford County Animal Shelter for a required 10-day observation period. Amtrak plans to operate its Piedmont and Carolinian services normally today after an accident derailed Amtrak Train #73 , known as the Piedmont, and caught fire after it hit a truck around 7:50am yesterday morning in Mebane. If you have a cell phone, you are in good company. But, how much do you ‘talk’ on your cell phone? A story from the New York Times saying that people are using their cell phones to text, send email, listen to music and even watching TV. But talking on your cell phone…not so much.
FYI: Almost 90% of US households now have a cell phone while more and more households are dropping their ‘land line’ phones.

(Gastonia) A not so nice neighbor is accused of stealing a homeowner’s jewelry and electricity from the person next door. According to the Gaston Gazette, 33-year-old Brad Morton (the bad neighbor) is accused of breaking into a neighbor's house on Wednesday and stealing about $3,000 dollars worth of jewelry. On top of that…Morton (the bad neighbor) also ran an electrical drop cord from his neighbor's home to his home…in order to ‘borrow’ the man’s electricity. Morton is charged with breaking and entering, larceny and second-degree trespassing.
