The latest from the Middle East: The fighting continues between Israel and Hezbollah militants. The United Nations is accusing Israel of intentially bombing a U.N. Observer post in southern Lebanon…killing 4 U.N. observers.

A 15-year-old boy was killed in an ATV accident Sunday afternoon in Wilkes County. Jacob Scott would have been a sophomore at North Wilkes High School this fall. Investigators said Scott and his friend were riding on Harold Mountain Road when they crashed into each other. Ball was thrown from his ATV and suffered a broken arm. Scott was killed instantly, according to authorities.
No charges have been filed. Neither teen was wearing a helmet, according to investigators.

DUBLIN, Ireland…
Medieval book of psalms unearthed
First millennium manuscript, open to Psalm 83, found in Irish mud
Irish archaeologists are excited about the discovery of an ancient book of psalms found by a construction worker using a backhoe.
The 20-page book has been dated to the years 800-1000. An expert from Trinity College said it was the first discovery of an Irish early medieval document in two centuries.
The book was found open to a page describing, in Latin script, Psalm 83, in which God hears complaints of other nations' attempts to wipe out the name of Israel.
(FYI) On Monday: Jewish Rabbis’ have called for the reading of 3 passages from Psalms (83, 130 and 142) because of the latest military action between Israel and Hezballah.

A statue of Barney Fife has literally been ‘nipped in the bud’.
Tom Hellebrand of Mount Airy The prime backer of the Fife monument has ordered the statue…destroyed.
Hellebrand wanted the statue to stand in Mount Airy, Griffith's hometown and the model for the show's fictional Mayberry, N.C.
Work was halted after Paramount/CBS withdrew its approval, saying it didn't have the authority to grant permission for a likeness of Don Knotts.
Knotts' widow and Andy Griffith endorsed a statue…BUT not in Mt Airy instead Knotts’ hometown of Morgantown, W.V. BUT the statue should not be of Fife…but of Don Knotts
Hellebrand is selling his house and his restaurant (the Mayberry Kountry Kitchen) in Mount Airy because of the strain from three months on the project.
Don Knotts who played Barney Fife on The Andy Griffith Show died in February.
