Former First Lady Barbara Bush spending the night in the hospital after complaining of quote a "little bit of pain." Barbara Bush is 83-years old.

The parents of Amar Mushar Wilson Jr. took their two month old to Forsyth Medical Center yesterday evening just after 7p.m. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. An autopsy is pending. Police have charged the boy’s father with felony child abuse.

A Florida kindergarten teacher was suspended for polling her students on whether an autistic boy should remain in her class. Five year old Alex Barton lost the vote 14 to 2. Barton, a former student at Morningside Elementary School in Port St. Lucie, Fla., had received two discipline referrals to the principal's office in May 21. The school was aware that Alex was in the process of being tested for Asperger's Syndrome. The St. Lucie County School Board voted unanimously to suspend the teacher, Wendy Portillo, for one year without pay. Portillo, the teacher, took Alex to the front of the class and asked students to tell the boy what they didn't like about his behavior and how it impacted them. Alex said the teacher allowed his classmates to call him "disgusting" and "annoying." Melissa Barton, the boy's mother, is planning a civil lawsuit. Alex is now being homeschooled. Doctors have given 30 year old Claudia Castillo a new windpipe with tissue engineered from her own adult stem cells. The 100,000th baby was born yesterday morning at The Women's Hospital of Greensboro. It’s a boy…Jaylen Nashawn Woodard was born at 7:29 a.m. and weighed 8 pounds, 15 ounces. Mom and baby are doing fine. The Women's Hospital of Greensboro opened in 1990.

Recall: Lean Cuisine

Three different Lean Cuisine frozen chicken entrees have been recalled after several people found hard plastics materials in the food. The recall includes: Lean Cuisine Chicken Mediterranean, Pesto Chicken with Bow Tie Pasta and Chicken Tuscan. The prayers of one Greensboro woman literally stops an attempted robbery. According to police, Kathy Headen (39) was getting books out of her car at the Vance Chavis Library in Greensboro Wednesday evening when a man approached her and demanded her cell phone and purse. When Headen saw the man, she began to pray aloud. The suspect asked her to stop talking so loudly, but when Headen refused to listen, the suspect left without taking anything. What a praise: A pastor who was kidnapped while traveling in Tijuana, Mexico…has been found alive. The 59-year old Southern Baptist pastor from California was taken hostage back in October. His kidnappers apparently gave up on their one million dollar ransom demand. The pastor was reportedly beaten and deprived of food and water while in captivity. Tijuana is just over the border from San Diego, California.

In North Carolina, lots of political races to keep up with beyond the Presidential race. Governor, Lt Governor, the US Senate race, House of Representatives, local races and the non-partisan judicial races. You will need to do your homework when it comes to the judges races. Bonds will also be on the ballot in several counties. In Forsyth County: Forsyth Tech Bond. In Greensboro: Voters will have to say YES or NO to 4 separate bonds. Including a $50 million dollar renovation to War Memorial Auditorium and $20 million dollar Bond for Parks and Recreation.

It’s all for fun but a serious learning experience: Today, Kids from kindergarten to high school in several counties (including Forsyth, Guilford, Davie and Randolph) will get to cast their paper ballot in this year’s election. The goal of the ‘Kids Voting’ program is to increase informed voter participation by teaching students about the elections process and by encouraging them to become lifetime voters who are involved in their community.

A new study suggesting that pregnancy rates are much higher among teens who watch TV shows that contain heavy sexual content. Teens who watched overtly sexual content on television were twice as likely to become pregnant over the next three years as those who watched less provocative TV shows. MISSION AVIATION FELLOWSHIP is assisting a number of relief organizations deliver food and medical supplies to refugees in the northern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The African nation is the scene of increasing violence between rebel and government forces. The United Nations estimating that hundreds of thousands of people have fled their homes in the Congo. Some have made it across the border to the neighboring countries of Uganda and Rwanda.

Parts of Asia getting hammered by natural disasters. In China, over the weekend, mudslides and landslides claimed at least 20 lives and destroying more than one-thousand homes.
In Vietnam, a week of heavy rains and flooding has claimed at least 49 lives.

Melissa Greene, one of the members of Avalon, is working on a solo project. The songs that will appear on the album titled “Next Step” were greatly influenced by the struggle she and her family faced when her brother was diagnosed with stage four cancer. "Next Step" should be out in March (2009). BTW: Melissa wants to assure her fans that she is not leaving Avalon.
