Today is Columbus Day: It’s a Federal holiday…banks and the post office will be closed today.

North Korea will likely face more sanctions after following through on its first-ever nuclear test. Japan and China are both strongly disappointed with the underground nuclear test. The UN Security Council will meet to discuss what to do next with North Korea. (USA Radio Network)

Another recall of greens…this time lettuce: A voluntary recall of green leaf lettuce sold under the Foxy brand name. Foxy is one of the nation's largest suppliers of lettuce, celery, broccoli, vegetable platters and stir-fry mixes. Over the past month…Three deaths have been linked to E Coli contaminated spinach. Voter registration deadline is this Friday. The upcoming General Elections is Tuesday, November 7th. According to Focus on the Family: In the last mid-term election year (2002), 6 out of 10 registered voters did not vote.

Third Generation Graham to preach: Reverend Will Graham, the grandson of Billy Graham, will hold his first U.S. crusade this week called the Greater Gas-ton Celebration. Will’s dad, Franklin Graham, is the president of Samaritans Purse. (Agapa Press)

Leann Real promised her husband Rusty, an avid sports fan, that if they ever had a son…that he would be able to pick the boy’s name.
‘ESPN Montana Real’ was born last week at Biloxi Regional Medical Center in Mississippi.YES…The baby boy’s name is ESPN (pronounced Espen) after the sports network and Montana after football legend Joe Montana.Baby ESPN isn't alone.Three others were cited in a 2005 report on tee-vo community.com about the network's 25th anniversary. They are Espn Malachi McCall in Pampa, Texas; Espn Curiel in Corpus Christi, Texas; and Espn Blondeel in Michigan.
