Fog will be a problem for commuters traveling West of interstate 85
this morning and Thursday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for most of our listening area til 9am.
-Areas in the mountains and foothills could have visibility drop to less than a quarter of a mile to near zero at times. -If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

A 2.6 magnitude "micro" earthquake rattling hundreds of Forsyth County residents early Tuesday morning. Two more earthquakes were reported last night
The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed a 1.5 quake occurred at 7:54 pm in southwestern Winston-Salem…then at 9:11 p.m., a 2.4 quake was reported southeast of Winston-Salem. No damage was reported from either incident.

Early damage estimates from the earthquake that shook Hawaii over the weekend could hit $46 million dollars. President Bush declared a major disaster, opening the way for federal aid.(USA Radio News)

President Bush is coming to the Piedmont today:
The President will visit Faulkner Elementary School in Guilford County this afternoon , make a special stop at Victory Junction Gang Camp then attend a private fundraiser in Greensboro. (Ch 14 Carolina) (www.victoryjunction.org)

The legislation also eliminates some of the rights defendants are usually guaranteed under U.S. law, and it authorizes continued harsh interrogations of terror suspects.

Another Christian missionary has been kidnapped in Haiti.
Rev. Pritchard Adams III, a long time resident of Haiti, was abducted (along with his wife and a groundskeeper) as he left his church in northern Haiti Sunday night. Captors are demanding a $5,000 dollar ransom for his release.
Up-date: Fox News and CNN both reporting that the missionary has been released without harm.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived in Japan today in an effort to persuade American allies to keep pressure on North Korea. Speaking of North Korea…Officials say satellite images show that North Korea appears to be getting ready for a second nuclear test. (USA Radio news)

Pop star Madonna is in the process of adopting a baby from Africa…saying that she and her husband wanted to help one child escape poverty.
Madonna said she would follow a standard procedure that requires an 18-month evaluation process before the adoption becomes final. (CNN)
