WINTER OFFICIALLY BEGINS THIS Saturday (December 22nd). A major Winter Storm dumped snow and ice from Maine to Michigan over the weekend. The storm is blamed for at least six deaths.

The US Postal Service saying that today will be the busiest day of the year. On average, the Postal Service processes over 650 million pieces of mail…today it will be closer to 900 million pieces of mail. Wednesday will be the biggest delivery day.

His hits included "Leader of the Band" and "Same Old Lang Syne"…Singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg died Sunday at his home in Maine. He was 56. Fogelberg was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer back in 2004. http://www.danfogelberg.com/news.html

Bah-Humbug? Greensboro Police arresting 19-year-old Kevin Michael Feeley in connection with the vandalism of an outdoor Nativity scene at Greensboro College. The Nativity was vandalized back on December 8th. Feeley is a student at UNC-Greensboro and charged with injury to personal property.

The Pioneer Family Restaurant in Archdale had their outdoor Christmas decorations stolen last week. Owners of the restaurant put up a message for the thieves… “May God Bless whoever stole our Christmas lights.” The stolen decorations were worth a couple hundred dollars.

A cream made with caffeine may make women's thighs slimmer.According to a report in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Brazilian researchers studied 99 women treated with a cream consisting mostly of a 7 percent caffeine solution. The women used the cream twice daily for 30 days. When the researchers took their subjects' measurements at the end of the study, more than 80 percent of the women had a reduction in the circumference of their upper and lower thighs. Nearly 68 percent also reduced their hip measurements.

Today is the anniversary of the historic ‘first flight’ by the Wright Brothers near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. 1903 was the year and the airplane spent 12 seconds in the air. (No delays?) A ceremony marking the date will be held this morning at 10:35am.
