On Sunday, students from High Point Christian Academy gathered together for a prayer vigil at the scene of the wreck that claimed the lives of two their classmates. On Friday, four students in an SUV from High Point Christian Academy were involved in a crash at the intersection of Phillips Avenue and Westchester Drive. Justin Payne Simmons died at the scene. The driver of the SUV, Jacob Foster Nance, passed away Saturday night at Baptist Hospital. Both were 17 years old. A teenager from Thomasville drowned in Belews Lake on Saturday. Joshua James Soloman was fishing from the shore around noon when officials believe his fishing line got tangled in the water and pulled him in. The incident happened near Humphrey's Ridge Campground.

At least 11 deaths are blamed on the massive flooding in Tennessee. Five of those deaths were in Davidson County, Tennessee. Nashville is located in Davidson County. Storms on Saturday brought in heavy amounts of rain. I-40 through Nashville is remains closed. Nashville got close to 13 inches of rain. 1,500 guests were evacuated from the Gaylord Opryland resort and convention center which is close to the Cumberland River to a local High School. The Cumberland River, which winds through Nashville, is expected to ‘crest’ at 10 feet above flood stage this morning.

A 20-second video may reveal more about a failed car bomb attempt in Times Square over the weekend. The video released by authorities showed an image of a man, who police say is possibly connected to the attempted bombing, changing his shirt along a New York street. A street vendor along Times Square saw smoke coming from a box inside a Nissan Pathfinder…and notified police. http://www.wxii12.com/news/23337690/detail.html
