The moment of silence at the beginning of the Greensboro City Council meetings will be replaced by an invocation. Bill Knight, who took office the office of Mayor in December, said he found that almost all government bodies in the area have some kind of prayer before their meetings. Tonight’s invocation will be a remembrance of veterans in honor of Memorial Day. At future meetings, ‘prayer’ invocations will replace the moment of silence.
