Tropical Storm Ernesto not causing any major problems in the Triad…
just some wind and steady rain.
-Ernesto made landfall near Long Beach late last night with 70 mph winds…just under Category One Hurricane status.
-The National Weather Service saying that seven inches of rain was recorded in Onslow County. More than eight inches of rain has fallen in Wilmington
-Tropical Storm Ernesto tracking north into Virginia today.
-A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through this afternoon for Stokes, Surry, Wilkes and Yadkin Counties. (weather.com)

Iran defied a U.N. deadline yesterday saying that it would not be "bullied" into giving up the right to use nuclear technology. Thursday was the international deadline for Iran to stop enriching uranium. The fear is that Iran will use the uranium to develop nuclear weapons. (AP / USA radio news)

A Memorial Service for Dr Mark Corts will be held Saturday morning at 10am at Calvary Baptist Church.
-Dr Mark Corts, former senior pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday evening. He was 68.
- Today: The worship center at Calvary Baptist Church will be open to family and friends for a viewing from 9am to 7 pm.
-Also, No classes today for students at Calvary Baptist Day school.

Lower gas prices on the way! Gasoline prices should keep falling.
One analyst saying that gas prices should be closer to $2 than $3 come Thanksgiving. Triple A saying that gas prices will likely drop 10 cents a gallon after Labor Day. The nationwide average for gas is around $2.84.
