Still no sign of the two missing young boys last seen wandering away from their grandparent’s home on Hicks Farm Road near the Dan River in Stokes County. JW and Jacob (ages 3 and 4) have been missing since around noon Tuesday afternoon. Anyone with information should call the Stokes County Sheriff’s Department at 336-593-8139. (WFMY/WS Jounnal)

Fewer Americans are dying from cancer…while the rate of diagnosis remains about the same. The annual report on cancer from the American Cancer Society saying that progress is being made because of a reduction in tobacco consumption, improved treatments and improved detection. Interesting fact: Latino immigrants have lower rates of cancer than whites or blacks. This study will be published in the October 15 issue of Cancer.

Tropical Storm Florence is still churning in the Atlantic.
Good news: Florence has not strengthened over the past 24 hours but should reach ‘Hurricane’ status by the weekend. A direct east coast hit is not likely…high surf and beach erosion the only effects from Florence. (weather.com)

The launch of space shuttle Atlantis…Maybe, Friday?
If NASA determines by tonight what has caused a ‘short’ in one of shuttle’s fuel cells….the launch will be 11:40 a.m. Friday morning. (CNN)

A giant Panda cub has been born at The Zoo in Atlanta. The cub is about the size of a human hand. That’s only the fifth giant panda cub born in the United States since 1990. Only an estimated 1,600 giant pandas live in the wild now. The zoo says another 185 live in captivity.
