THE U.S. CENSUS BUREAU SAYS IT WILL NOT INCLUDE SAME-SEX MARRIAGES IN ITS UPCOMING 2010 CENSUS REPORT. The Bureau said its procedures to count relationship data comply with the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act signed into law by former president Bill Clinton. The law requires all federal agencies to recognize only marriages between a man and a woman for the purposes of administering federal programs.
