The annual Moravian Christmas star lighting and worship service happening this afternoon. The service (postponed from Monday) will take place at 5:30pm this evening at the employee parking lot on Cloverdale Avenue across from the Shell gas station. The public is invited.

Novant Health Inc. and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center agreed yesterday to a settlement that could result in community hospitals being built in Advance, Clemmons and Mocksville in phases through 20-17.

The House Committee on Homeland Security is scheduled to ‘hear’ from the couple that crashed a White House State dinner recently. However, the Chairman of the committee has been informed that Salahis may not appear as requested. The Committee is prepared to issue subpoenas to the couple to make an appearance. The director of the Secret Service, Mark Sullivan, also has agreed to testify. The Salahis are aspiring reality TV stars who made it through the security checkpoint at the White House.

COMCAST AND NBC UNIVERSAL ANNOUNCING THEIR MUCH-ANTICIPATED $30 BILLION DOLLAR MERGER. FYI: Comcast would gain control of the NBC broadcast network, the Spanish-language Tele-mundo and about two dozen cable channels, including USA, Sci-Fi and The Weather Channel. Bank of America Corporation will re-pay its portion of the TRAP or government bailout money in the next few days.
