It could be mid-week by the time power is fully restored to people in Watauga and Ashe counties. Last week's ice storm took out power to more than 8,000 homes. As of Sunday evening, 6,000 were still without electricity. Officials say more than 200 line men are working daily to restore power. Crews from neighboring utility co-ops are also helping.
