High Wind Warning is in effect for central North Carolina through 9pm
-We are getting reports of power outages due to ‘down trees’ in the area. The saturated wet ground and high winds are going to be a dangerous combination today and tonight.
-State Highway Patrol is warning truckers to be aware of the potentially dangerous ‘crosswinds’…especially along Interstate 77 near the North Carolina/Virginia border.

Recall: HONDA is expanding its earlier recall for faulty air bags.
The updated recall includes older Honda Civics, Odyssey and Acura models.
-Honda says the driver's airbag inflators might expand with too much pressure, which can cause the inflator casing to break and could lead to injury or death. www.honda.com

The FAA is close to wrapping up a two-year investigation of safety violations at American Airlines that could result in one of the largest fines in the agency's history.

PRESIDENT OBAMA IS PLANNING A TELEVISED BI-PARTISAN HEALTH-CARE MEETING FOR FEBRUARY 25TH. C-SPAN will televise the meeting.
A national survey by Rasmussen Reports shows that 58% of voters strongly disapprove of the current House and Senate health-care proposals. Ashley Horne, federal issues analyst with Focus on the Family Action, tells Citizen Link the president is a "a little late asking Republicans to the table. But, this summit indicates that at least he feels the pressure from Americans telling him he needs to start over."

'Deadliest Catch' Captain Phil Harris has died…
Phil Harris, the fishing boat captain whose adventures off the Alaska coast were captured on the television show "Deadliest Catch", has died, the Discovery Channel said Tuesday night. Captain Phil was 53. The Discovery Channel reality show “Deadliest Catch” depicts the crab fishing industry in the dangerous waters off Alaska.
