Where’s the copper top? Greensboro Police are investigating the theft of copper shingles stolen off the roof of a gazebo and kiosk at the Bicentennial Garden. Around $9,000 dollars worth of copper shingles were taken off the buildings sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. The gazebo is often used for weddings and the city said it will waive the fee for a wedding that is scheduled for Saturday. Copper theft has been on the increase recently because of its high resale value. Anyone with information about the theft should call Crime Stoppers at 373-1000.
