Engineers with B-P are planning on permanently plugging that blown out oil well in the Gulf…as early as this evening. Mud and even cement will be used to seal off the well. (CNN)

Devastating floods in Pakistan have killed more 1,100 people. An official with the UN reporting that another 30,000 people were stuck on their rooftops and in higher areas as they tried to escape rushing floodwaters. The US has committed $10 million dollars for flood relief.

Ken Miller will be the next ‘chief of police’ of the Greensboro Police Department. Miller has been with the Mecklenburg Police Department for 21 years and in law enforcement for more than 25 years. Actress Lindsay Lohan was released from jail early this morning after serving less than two weeks behind bars. Lohan was taken to a treatment facility for another two week stay. Kids and cell phones. According to the Pew Internet & American Life Project, 75% of all U.S. teens have a cell phone. When you drop the age to 12 years old, it's still a whopping 58%. 90% of all those kids are texting each other at any given moment—to a tally of around 50 times a day. And if they're not texting, tweeting or e-mailing one another, they're probably chit-chatting with one of their hundreds (thousands?) of Facebook friends. Read more:
