NASA is sending a team of experts to the country of Chile to help keep 33 miners trapped deep underground…physically and mentally fit until they are rescued. The miners have been trapped in a ‘gold and copper’ mine in Northern Chile since August 5th. BTW: NASA has had a long history of dealing with isolated environments. (CNN)

An employee of Crump Tree Service remains in critical condition. 28 year old Alan Daley, of Mount Airy, was doing tree work around a power line on School Street in Pilot Mountain early Saturday morning. On Sunday, the Canadian coast guard began transferring passengers from a cruise ship that ran aground in the Arctic on Friday. The crew of ‘The Clipper Adventurer’ failed to dislodge the ship during high tide on Saturday… that’s when the coast guard was called in to help. None of the estimated 128 passengers and 69 crew members hurt or injured. (CNN)

William P. Foster, longtime director of the Florida A&M Marching 100 band, died Saturday. He was 91 years old. Foster is credited with innovating the high-stepping style of marching. Foster served as Florida A&M’s marching band director from 1946 until his retirement in 1998. He created more than 200 half-time shows…most complete with high stepping.

Mark Hall, the frontman for the band Casting Crowns, is a big FAN of Star Wars and Star Wars stuff. Mark Hall’s recent online auction of his personal Star War’s collection has raised over $15 thousand dollars for World Vision. The final piece of Hall’s collection, the famous "Han Solo’ office desk, will be auctioned this fall. www.castingcrowns.com
