Federal agents have seized Chinqua-Penn Plantation in Rockingham County. According to the Winston-Salem Journal, the plantation's owner Calvin Phelps is currently involved in a bankruptcy lawsuit. A bankruptcy examiner claims Phelps made a fraudulent asset transfer of $8 million dollars to purchase the lavish plantation, two corporate jets and a Maserati.

Former President Jimmy Carter is expected to resume his book tour later today after spending the night in a hospital in Cleveland. Carter became ill on a flight from Atlanta to Cleveland. Carter turns 86 on Friday.

Lewisville United Methodist Church will hold a funeral this afternoon for the abandoned baby found outside a Winston-Salem Planned Parenthood Clinic earlier this month. Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home will cover the costs of the service. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 4 p.m. Medical examiners are still not sure how the baby died. (Fox8)
