Mount Airy mayor recovering after wreck on Wednesday. Mayor Deborah Cochran was involved in a two-car collision while on her way to work at WSYD (local radio station in Surry County). Cochran's 1993 Honda Del Sol was hit by a teenager who pulled out in front of her. The 17 year old boy was on his way to Mount Airy High School.  Cochran prized her little red sports car, but is happy that no one was seriously injured. "I just thank God. When I was his age, I had an accident too. You look on the positive side, it could have been worse.”  No charges were filed against the teen even though the accident report stated that the teen "failed to yield the right of way," and is at fault.  www.journalnow.com/news/2010/dec/16/mount-airy-mayor-recovering-after-wreck-ar-622391/
