High Point City Council member Mike Pugh is trying to bring Jesus back as a permanent fixture during prayers at open meetings. The term Jesus has not been used during open council meetings since 2007, when the ACLU contacted the city and addressed concerns. In response, the city voted on a prayer in which references to God are allowed but no other specific deities can be mentioned. Pugh contacted the Rutherford Institute, a non-profit organization that defends religious and civil liberties. The institute said it is not illegal to mention Jesus Christ during prayer.  http://www.myfox8.com/news/wghp-story-council-jesus-101214,0,259856.story

It all started when an atheist group purchased advertising on the side of buses in the Fort Worth Transportation Authority. Slogans on the bus ads include statements such as "Millions of people are Good without God". The response from the Bible-believing community has been strong and verbal with ads taken out on a truck that follows the bus around with a message that reads: "I still love you, God" and "2.1 billion Christians are good with God". So far, there has not been the violence in Fort Worth that has been evident in other cities.
