Military chaplains in Iraq are preparing for Christmas services:
According to Colonel Michael Hoyt, the command chaplain for U.S. and allied forces in Iraq, says that there is some added anxiety this Christmas with President Bush considering a change in strategy in Iraq.
Hoyt says that soldiers who arrive in Iraq as ‘believers’ generally leave with a deepened faith, while others seek a relationship with God for the first time. Others remain indifferent.
The command chaplain says bottom line…all the troops need intercessory prayer this Christmas season -- for morale and stamina to complete their mission. (AgapePress )

School district administrators admitted earlier in the week that the controversial book "And Tango Makes Three" was taken out of school libraries without following district policy that calls for a formal complaint and review process.
The same-sex penguin love story has been challenged in several states. The American Library Association said Charlotte would be the first school district to ban the book…outright. (AP / CNN)
Jim Grobe, the head football coach at Wake Forest, has been named AP Coach of the Year.
The Demon Deacons (under Jim Grobe) went from the worst team in the ACC to first place capturing an ACC Championship…without their starting quarterback and top tailback. Wake will play Louisville in the Orange Bowl on January 2nd.

The Davidson County school system has cracked down on references to Christmas and other religious holidays.Meredith Palmer, the director of public information for the Davidson County school system , explained the logic behind the tightening of the rules. "Public education's responsibility is to teach about religion in an academic sense, not in a sense of celebration."Some religious words are strictly taboo, however. Teachers are not allowed to use names and terms like "Jesus," "Mary," "Joseph" or "star of Bethlehem" in word searches, the popular game where students must locate words in a jumbled matrix of letters. WBFJ reported this story on Wednesday:
The Davidson County school system has cracked down on references to Christmas and other religious holidays.Meredith Palmer, the director of public information for the Davidson County school system , explained the logic behind the tightening of the rules. "Public education's responsibility is to teach about religion in an academic sense, not in a sense of celebration."Some religious words are strictly taboo, however. Teachers are not allowed to use names and terms like "Jesus," "Mary," "Joseph" or "star of Bethlehem" in word searches, the popular game where students must locate words in a jumbled matrix of letters.
