They’re having a ‘sleep over’ at the Denver International Airport. Holiday travelers are literally stranded in Denver because of a major snow storm that has dumped more than a foot of snow in some places across Colorado. (usaradionews)

Deadly Daycare accident in High Point yesterday afternoon:
An 8-year-old boy died from injuries suffered when a car slammed into the daycare van he was riding in at the corner of Prospect Street and Amherst Avenue in High Point. Seven others -- including four children and three adults -- were injured in the crash. Police are still investigating the incident… charges are pending against both drivers. (Fox 8)


Military chaplains in Iraq are preparing for Christmas services:
According to Colonel Michael Hoyt, the command chaplain for U.S. and allied forces in Iraq, says that there is some added anxiety this Christmas with President Bush considering a change in strategy in Iraq.
Hoyt says that soldiers who arrive in Iraq as ‘believers’ generally leave with a deepened faith, while others seek a relationship with God for the first time. Others remain indifferent.
The command chaplain says bottom line…all the troops need intercessory prayer this Christmas season -- for morale and stamina to complete their mission. (AgapePress )

"And Tango Makes Three" a picture book about two male penguins that raise an adopted hatchling together at New York's Central Park Zoo is headed back to bookshelves in the Charlotte school district. School district administrators admitted earlier in the week that the controversial book "And Tango Makes Three" was taken out of school libraries without following district policy that calls for a formal complaint and review process.
The same-sex penguin love story has been challenged in several states. The American Library Association said Charlotte would be the first school district to ban the book…outright. (AP / CNN)

Jim Grobe, the head football coach at Wake Forest, has been named AP Coach of the Year.
The Demon Deacons (under Jim Grobe) went from the worst team in the ACC to first place capturing an ACC Championship…without their starting quarterback and top tailback. Wake will play Louisville in the Orange Bowl on January 2nd.

A grandmother, who spoke little English and was traveling to Mexico, sent her 1-month-old grandson through an X-ray machine at Los Angeles International Airport over the weekend. The infant was taken to the hospital and checked out fine. Airport officials said that back in 1988…an infant in a car seat was sent through the X-ray scanner at LAX. (CNN)
