WBFJ NEWS Update

Area pastors have called for a peaceful gathering tonight in support of praying in the name of Jesus at governmental meetings. Tonight’s Winston-Salem City Council meeting starts at 6:30 at City Hall. Back in November, The Winston Salem Journal ran several articles regarding prayer to a specific deity at government meetings.
The City of Winston-Salem had received a complaint from the ACLU asking the City to require that local Pastors agree to NOT use the name of "Jesus" or any other specific deity when praying to open City Council meetings.
