New York has become the first city in the nation to ban artificial Trans-Fats at restaurants. Fast food chains will have until this July to find alternative oils. (AP)

The Lexington City Board of Education last night voted to ban all tobacco products from Lexington city school grounds and property. The new rules also prohibit school employees from using tobacco products at any school-related events or functions. Repeated violations may lead to suspensions from school.

The Guilford County school board have given themselves two weeks to figure out how to get all the students from Eastern Guilford High School back together at one location.
The board hopes to approve an option on December 19. ((Fox 8)

A major automobile merger is taking place in Greensboro…
Crown Automotive will merge its Pontiac GMC franchise with Flow Automotive Group. Its all part of General Motors consolidation of car dealerships across the nation. The Pontiac-GMC dealership will move its business to Bridford Parkway. In the transition…Crown will expand its BMW dealership in Greensboro. (Fox 8 and WS Journal)

A North Carolina health group says a study released on Tuesday in Washington shows just how badly North Carolinians need to improve some of their lifestyle choices. The study by the United Health Foundation ranked North Carolina 36th in its annual list of healthy states. Minnesota ranked number 1. The study considered such factors as personal behavior, work environment and access to medical care. (WFMY TV)

Archaeologists in Israel are saying that they have uncovered one of the world's first Christian church buildings…built on a site believed to have once housed the Ark of the Covenant.
The site located in the hills near the occupied West Bank in Israel, is richly decorated with brightly colored mosaics and inscriptions referring to Jesus Christ.
The church site dates back to the late 4th century. (London Telegraph)
