A 2-year-old boy is recovering after being attacked by a dog yesterday afternoon. The attack happened in the Flatrock area near Mt Airy.
The boy was taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center with injuries to his face and head. (journalnow.com)

"American Idol" raised more than $30 million dollars for young people in Africa and the United States. Who was voted off…no one! Two contestants will be eliminated next week.

A $124 billion dollar war emergency spending bill has passed through the House and now moves to the Senate. The bill calls for a troop pull out from Iraq beginning by October 1. President Bush has promised to veto the bill if it includes a troop pull out. (usa radio network)

Rain is in the forecast for Blacksburg, Virginia: Officials with Virginia Tech will be “carefully and respectfully” moving some of the memorials that might be damaged or destroyed by the impending storms. The Hokie Stones and flowers will remain on the Drillfield. Other memorials will be re-located in the upper level of the Old Dominion Ballroom of Squires Student Center. (www.vt.edu)
