Two Iraqi journalists working for ABC News were ambushed and killed
as they drove home from work. The attack took place Thursday afternoon when unknown assailants attacked the car carrying a cameraman and a soundman.
According to the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists has recorded 102 journalists and 39 media support workers killed…and 48 journalists abducted since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

Founder of Liberty University Evangelist Jerry Falwell passed away on Tuesday. Falwell was 73. www.liberty.edu

The co-founders of the online video sharing site YouTube are challenging the Pentagon's assertion that soldiers overseas were using too much bandwidth by watching online videos. The US Military has blocked popular Web sites (including YouTube and MySpace) from Defense Department computers.

Senators have reached an agreement on immigration reform that would strengthen U.S. borders and grant lawful status to millions of illegal immigrants.
The plan supported by the President will pump more money into border security and create a temporary worker program to bring new arrivals into the U.S.

The Bush administration is wasting no time finding a successor
to World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz. Wolfowitz has agreed to resign after officials found him guilty of breaking bank rules over his handling of a pay and promotion package for his girlfriend.

Crisis Control Ministry’s 6th annual Wee Care! Children’s Cereal Drive held
In late April was a great success. Over 3,500 boxes of cereal were donated to the food pantry.
Crisis Control Ministry is a Christian-based ministry whose mission is to assist people in crisis situations. Crisis Control Ministry also offers a food pantry and free pharmacy for Forsyth County residents. Information at www.crisiscontrol.org.

Hundreds of rail passengers in eastern India got more than they had bargained for earlier in the week…when the driver of their train asked them to get out and push. It took more than 30 minutes to literally move the stalled electric train 12 feet so that it touched live overhead wires and was able to resume its journey. India's rail network carries more than 15 million people daily.

(WS) One lane of Country Club Road, between Jonestown and Peace Haven roads, in Winston-Salem will be closed starting on Saturday. Crews will begin on widening that portion of Country Club. The project should be completed late November.
