Smoke from the massive wildfires in Georgia and Florida causing many in central NC to wonder ‘Where is the fire?’
Wildfires in Georgia have blackened more than 600 square miles of dried-out forest and swampland. Experts say that the Georgia swamp fires could burn for months.

The dates for the Furniture Market will shift back to April and October beginning in 2008. Future markets will remain on a Monday through Sunday schedule. The 2007 Fall Market is set for October 1-7.

Even with record gas prices holding above $3 per gallon nationwide, more Americans will be traveling by car over the Memorial Day holiday weekend than a year ago. According to a survey by Triple A, you will be traveling but you will stay closer to home and take shorter trips.

Paris Hilton will serve about half of her 45-day jail sentence. The 26-year-old hotel heiress will spend about 23 days in a "special needs housing unit" near Los Angeles. Hilton was sentenced to jail this month for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. A judge ordered her to report to jail by June 5.

Crisis Control Ministry’s 6th annual Wee Care! Children’s Cereal Drive held
April 23 - 27 was a great success. Over 3,500 boxes of cereal were donated…a 45% increase over last year. Over 50 preschools and daycares, church schools, elementary schools and churches participated with food drives during the month of April.
Crisis Control Ministry is a Christian-based ministry whose mission is to assist people in crisis situations. Crisis Control Ministry also offers a food pantry and free pharmacy for Forsyth County residents. Information at www.crisiscontrol.org.

Women Only: That will be the rule on the entire 19th floor of a new Marriott hotel being built in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Spokeswoman Andrea Groom says more than half of all business travelers are women. The women-only rooms will have feminine touches like special hair dryers, bath products, jewelry holders and chenille throws. Rooms on the Ladies Only floor will cost $30 dollars more.
The hotel opens in September.

This week is National Bike to Work Week.
Mark Schultz is cycling coast to coast for widows and orphans.
Proceeds from the bike ride (through early July) will go to the James Fund, a non-profit organization founded by Family Christian Stores. www.markacrossamerica.org
