20,000 pieces of costume jewelry imported from China are being recalled because they contain high levels of the lead. The kids costume jewelry being recalled is branded "Essentials for Kids," imported by Future Industries. The products were sold at gift stores, dollar stores and discount stores nationwide from August 2005 through April 2007 for about $1. The products should be taken away immediately from children and returned to the store where purchased for a refund.

Most of North Carolina is dry. The western mountains under extreme drought conditions. In the Triad: The City of Greensboro issuing voluntary water restrictions due to the dry conditions. Water Resources Officials say Greensboro is five inches below normal rainfall this year and the city's supply is only 85% full. Greensboro residents and businesses use nearly 40 million gallons of water each day. (Fox News)
So how much water do we use:
According to the US Geological Survey, flushing a toilet uses three gallons of water. The washing machine uses 10 gallons a load.
The dishwasher uses 20 gallons.
A bath takes 50 gallons of water. A shower uses two gallons per minute

Flooding in Texas has claimed 13 lives with forecasters calling for another
1 to 3 inches of rain today. An estimated 1,000 homes have been damaged or destroyed by floods since May. Parts of Oklahoma and Kansas are seeing the water level start to go down.
Drier conditions are predicted for northeastern Oklahoma over the next 10 days. (USA)

A strong 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit southern Mexico on Thursday. No reports of any injuries or damage.

A fundraiser for the 25 employees of the Southern Lunch will take place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of the restaurant on Railroad Street in Lexington. In addition to food, there will be a bake sale, face paintings and raffle for a Bob Timberlake fireside occasional table. A fire on June 26th caused extensive damage to Southern lunch restaurant.
