Burger King is promising to offer healthier kids meals in 2008…offering up flame-broiled Chicken Tenders and apples cut to resemble thick-cut french fries. Burger King also sells salads and has a veggie burger.

A 7.9 earthquake rocked southern Indonesia this morning. A tsunami alert has been issued.

Water fountains were turned off at Jonesville Elementary School and the ice was thrown out at John Boy's Barbeque on Highway 67…because of Bacteria that causes E-Coli was found during a routine check of the water supply in Jonesville on Tuesday. Residents in JONESVILLE should still boil water before drinking or cooking with tap water. (WXII)

Local teacher and coach looses her 8 year battle with cancer. Terri Beam was a French teacher at Northwest Guilford Middle School. A salvation celebration will be held tonight at 7 pm at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church. (FOX 8)

With a rash of recalls from China, the safety of toys and other products including fireworks, cigarette lighters, and electrical products will be the topic of a Senate hearing today.

THE FAA IS WARNING THE AIRLINE INDUSTRY THAT IMPROVMENTS NEED TO BE MADE TO IMPROVE ON-TIME PERFORMANCE. If they don’t, the government may take action of its own. The head of the Federal Aviation Administration, Marion Blakey, says while airlines can’t control the weather they can control their own schedules.

Kevin Everett (the Buffalo Bills player that suffered a life threatening spinal cord injury during Sunday’s Bills – Broncos game) has moved his arms and legs on his own. THE NFL IS LOOKING AT A CASE OF SPYING: The National Football League says it has determined that the New England Patriots videotaped the signals being used by the New York Jets during the season opener this past Sunday. The NFL prohibits the use of any videotaping devices on the field, in locker rooms, or in coaches’ booths during games. Punishments could include: fines, loss of draft picks and suspensions.

A Lexington family is still baffled after spotting an unusual light near North Myrtle Beach last week. The House family first noticed the mysterious light over the Atlantic Ocean on September 5. -North Myrtle Beach police told the family the lights were likely caused by jets from Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, S.C., performing military maneuvers.-According to Jim Sutton, North Carolina president of MU-FON (Mutual UFO Network)…it could have been something more "out-of-this-world”.
