Thomasville and the city of Burlington are the latest communities now under voluntary water restrictions. Officials saying that everyone in the state should limit watering lawns, car washing and take shorter showers.

The University of Florida is investigating the ‘taser incident’ involving a student who was escorted out of an open Q and A forum with Senator John Kerry. Video of the Monday incident involving university police, a rambling student, and Senator Kerry has been widely shown on television and on the Internet.

Hundreds of people (including students from Winston-Salem State University, North Carolina A&T State University and Bennett College) are making their way to Jeana, Louisiana. Thousands expected to attend a civil rights rally on Thursday to protest the outcome of a racially-charged school yard beating that has gained national attention.

THE FEDERAL RESERVE HAS CUT A KEY INTEREST RATE BY HALF A PERCENTAGE POINT ON TUESDAY.
The number of foreclosures filed in the U.S. last month more than doubled since August of last year. The national foreclosure rate last month was one filing for every 510 households. Foreclosure filings include default notices, auction sale notices and bank repossessions.

Supporters of traditional marriage winning a legal victory in Maryland on Tuesday. Maryland’s ban on same-sex unions has been ruled constitutional. Maryland law defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

A POWERFUL TYPHOON SLAMMED ASHORE IN CHINA earlier today…making landfall just south of Shanghai. Chinese officials had evacuated nearly two-million people from coastal areas of the country ahead of the storms arrival.

Los Angeles topping the list of cities with the WORST traffic congestion.
Also making the list: San Francisco, Washington DC, Atlanta, and the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Traffic congestion is to blame for 4.2 billion lost hours of productivity and 2.9 billion gallons of wasted fuel. The annual report complied by Texas A And M University.

There will be a benefit concert for the Pollard Family this Friday at the Clemmons Civic Center starting at 6:30pm. Jeremy Pollard (Youth Pastor at Union Grove Baptist Church) and his family were seriously injured in a car accident back in August.
