Farmers in 85 counties in North Carolina are now eligible for low-interest emergency loans from the federal government to help them recover from crop losses because of this summer’s drought. The Agriculture Department said farmers in the affected areas have suffered losses of at least 30% in at least one significant crop. (WXII)

The owner and operator of Carter Brothers BBQ in High Point passed away on Friday. Darin 'Big Daddy' Carter as he was known was 38-years-old. His funeral will be held on 3pm today at First Wesleyan Church. (FOX8)

Far too many citizens of the world do not enjoy religious freedom. The State Department has released its annual report on Religious Freedom. The three worst countries: Burma, China, and Iran. The good news ….improvements have been made in Vietnam, India, and Saudi Arabia.

OJ SIMPSON IS BEHIND BARS AGAIN. The former football star was arrested Sunday on charges he was involved with the armed robbery of a memorabilia dealer in a Las Vegas hotel room last week. Simpson claiming that he was just retrieving stolen memorabilia that belonged to him. Simpson is facing six felony counts.

Censors used the ‘Bleep Button’ several times last night during the 59th annual Emmy Awards.
The most controversial comment came from Sally Field as she accepted the leading actress award for her role in the ABC program Brothers And Sisters. Field used some ‘colorful’ words when she declared that there would be no wars if mothers ruled the world.Among the big winners at the Emmys: the Sopranos and 30 - Rock for best drama and best comedy TV shows.

Today is Constitution Day. On this date back in 1787, the US Constitution was completed and delivered to Congress. Constitutional events going on today.
