Be it fettuccine, linguine or spaghetti, Italians will soon be paying up to 20% more for their pasta. Consumer groups are calling for a one-day pasta strike today - not against eating it, but against buying it - to protest the increase. The cause of the pasta price increase: rising wheat prices worldwide. THE INTERNATIONAL BIBLE SOCIETY HAS RELEASED A BIBLE DESIGNED FOR THE SPOUSES OF THOSE SERVING IN THE MILITARY. It’s called ‘Finding Hope Beyond The Battle’. The IBS says it addresses the topics of fear, anger, loneliness, and other challenges that military spouses face while their partner is deployed. IBS will distribute 55-thousand copies of the new Bible free of charge through military chaplains to families of deployed troops. More information at IBS Direct-dot-com.

Storm Humberto formed very quickly in the Gulf on Wednesday… strengthening to hurricane status overnight before making landfall early this morning near the Texas-Louisiana boarder. Sustained winds are near 80mph. Flooding is now the main concern for Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

Up to 4 earthquakes hitting the southern region of Indonesia over the past 24 hours. A tsunami alert has been issued. At least 9 fatalities after the first earthquake shook Indonesia on Wednesday.

18 year old Curtis Murphy Jr is in custody after jumping in a stopped daycare van with children inside and drove away. No one was injured in the incident. A van from A-Plus Day Care in High Point was picking up children at about 7 a.m. Wednesday Morning in Winston-Salem when Murphy (armed with a gun) got in the vehicle and drove away. Dangerous ‘show and tell? A fourth-grader at Briarwood Elementary in Charlotte was caught with a .38 caliber hand-gun in his waistband and two bullets in his hand…while at school.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police were called in to question the boy.
The boy in trouble had been living with his 21-year-old cousin.

Breaking News (?) Married men and housework do NOT mix.
According to the researchers from George Mason University and North Carolina State University… 17,000 people surveyed (from 28 countries) say that married men do less housework than their spouses. In the study, marriage seems to traditionalize the idea that women ‘are suppose to do more housework’.
