The Presidential race continues. GOP Primary set for South Carolina tomorrow. The NEVADA caucuses is also set for Nevada on Saturday. Democratic Primary in SC will be next Saturday.

THE FDA HAS ISSUED A STRONG WARNING ABOUT YOUNG CHILDREN AND THE USE OF OVER-THE-COUNTER COUGH AND COLD MEDICINES. OTC products including decongestants, expectorants, antihistamines, and cough suppressants should not be given to children under two years of age.

Transylvania County detectives have linked Gary Hilton to the murder of 84-year-old Irene Bryant and disappearance of her 80-year-old husband John Bryant. The couple disappeared in November after going for a hike in the NC Mountains. Last week, Gary Hilton was charged with the death of 24-year-old Meredith Emerson…who was last seen hiking in a Georgia state forest.

Information from the Alan Guttmacher Institute shows that the abortion rate fell to 19 abortions per one thousand women aged 15 to 44 in 2005. That is the lowest number of abortions since 1974. In terms of numbers, that translates to over one million abortions were performed in 2005. The National Right to Life Committee welcomed the news…saying that it’s a testimony to the impact of pro-life education, outreach, and the passage of state laws that require waiting periods before women receive an abortion.

Chess Champ Bobby Fischer who gained fame in 1972 after beating an opponent from the Soviet Union has died. Fischer was 64.

Thanks to record-setting attendance last year, the Dixie Classic Fair has made the list of the 50 largest fairs in North America in 2007 as ranked by carnivalwarehouse.com. Attendance at the Dixie Classic Fair last year jumped 17% to 371,219. More information at http://www.dcfair.com/
