Public schools, Banks and Government offices will be closed today in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr Holiday. One of many MLK events going on today…Actor Levar Burton (host of Reading Rainbow) will speak and the choirs from Wake Forest and WSSU will perform at Wait Chapel tonight at 7pm. The event is Free and open to the public.

Tuesday marks the 35th anniversary of the Roe-v-Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the US.Sunday was the start of Sanctity of Human Life Week.

A new study suggesting that caffeine consumption during pregnancy increases the risk of miscarriage. The study showed that women who consume 200 milligrams or more of caffeine a day (that’s two or more cups of regular coffee or five cans of caffeinated soda) had twice the miscarriage risk as women who consumed no caffeine. The study sponsored by Kaiser Permanente.

Terry Grier is heading west. The superintendent for the Guilford County school system has been selected as the new superintendent for the San Diego Unified School District. Grier will begin in California on July 1st.

And the winners are…Republican Mitt Romney and Democrat Hillary Clinton won the Nevada caucuses with John McCain winning in South Carolina’s GOP Primary.South Carolina will hold its Democratic Primary this Saturday.Super Tuesday is coming up. Two dozen states will hold their Presidential primary contests on Tuesday, February fifth.

Busted: A campaign mailer from Dean Hrbacek, one congressional candidate in Texas, contains a photo of his head attached to an image of a different body that makes him look thinner. The photo is presented as a true image of Hrbacek, a Republican former mayor of Sugar Land.

In Australia - Boomerangs really do come back - even after 25 years. Officials in an Australian Outback town were surprised when a missing boomerang arrived back in town.
