Asia and parts of the Middle East are getting some unusual Winter Weather. In places like Jerusalem and Jordan, a rare snowfall was just enough to close schools. Major announcements being made yesterday. John Edwards and Rudi Giuliani have dropped out of the Presidential race. All four of the Republican candidates attended a CNN debate last night. John McCain and Mitt Romney attacked each other's conservative credentials during the final showdown before next week's Super Tuesday primaries. The Democrats (Clinton and Obama) will attend a CNN debate tonight.

The Guilford County Health Department is reporting its first documented case of rabies for 2008. A skunk found on Fairbluff Court in Summerfield on January 25 tested positive for rabies. Health officials’ stress that all pets need to vaccinated. (Fox8)

A Winston-Salem police officer is in critical condition at Baptist Hospital after he slipped and fell on concrete stairs at a home he was renovating. The accident happened on Sunday. Christian kid ministry, Awana is launching a national media campaign called Project Joseph to help kids, parents and churches work together to develop strong "spiritual champions" for Jesus Christ. The campaign is modeled after Joseph of the Old Testament, who maintained his faith in spite of challenging circumstances.

The I-85 Yadkin River bridge is in need of replacing…could a Toll road be the answer? Officials with the North Carolina Turnpike Authority saying that it will cost about $400 million dollars to replace the current structure with an eight-lane bridge. One way to pay for the project is by making the I-85 Yadkin River bridge a toll way, charging drivers between one and four dollars to go back and forth between Davidson and Rowan counties. County commissioners in Rowan and Davidson counties, plus the North Carolina General Assembly and federal transportation authorities will have to approve the project before any work can begin.

Two North Carolina cities are among the Top 10 worst metropolitan areas for people with asthma. According to a report from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, Greensboro came in 7th with Charlotte ranking 10th . Knoxville, Tennessee was ranked first. The foundation reviews factors such as the number of people diagnosed with asthma, the number of asthma medications used per patient and local air quality.
