United Airlines and US Airways are following American Airlines in charging for checked baggage. United said yesterday it will begin charging domestic passengers $15 dollars each way for one checked bag… $25 dollars each way for a second checked bag.

The number of people getting sick from salmonella – tainted tomatoes has jumped to 228. Infections have now been found in 23 states since mid-April. (RnR)

Greensboro's former mayor now has a ‘traffic circle’ to call his own. "Holliday Traffic Circle" in honor of Keith Holliday was dedicated yesterday. The Holliday Traffic Circle surrounds the General Greene statue on Greene Street just south of City Hall. Holliday was Greensboro’s Mayor for 8 years. (Greensboro News –Record)

The Supreme Court handing down a ruling yesterday that terror suspects being held at Guantanamo Bay have the right to challenge their detention in a civilian court.
President Bush saying that the U.S. would abide by the court's decision…but is not happy with the decision. (RnR)

Exxon Mobil Corporation, the nation's largest oil company, plans to sell more than 2,000 of its company-owned gas stations over the next two years. Exxon Mobile earned nearly $41 billion dollars last year.

Take-over talks between internet giant Yahoo! and Microsoft have reached a dead end. Yahoo! Has moved on…hiring Google to handle some of its advertising sales.

Flooding continues to be a problem in Iowa…many have been forced to evacuate their homes.

The Guilford County Health Department ‘Animal Control Program’ will be holding low cost rabies vaccination clinics starting tomorrow (June 14) through October. The rabies clinics will be held at various locations in Guilford county on Saturdays, from 9 – 1pm. The cost is $5.00.
