Last Day of School for Students in Guilford County

Survey says: CLOSE a portion of Business 40 through downtown
Winston-Salem for 2 years in order to make much needed repairs.
Construction along the 1.1 mile section of Business 40 between 4th street and church street is set to begin in 2015.

Students entering the sixth grade who haven’t had vaccines against Whooping Cough and tetanus within 5 years of August 1st will be required to get booster shots before they start school in the Fall.
The vaccination will be FREE since the booster is now required.
The Forsyth County Department of Public Health will hold a vaccination clinic on Thursday (June 12) from 8:30 to 4pm.

Residents in Iowa and Illinois are still dealing with all that rain…which has led to flooding. Flooding along the Mississippi River will continue to cause problems for the next two weeks. More rain is expected today over the Midwest.

CRUDE OIL PRICES FELL ABOUT A DOLLAR IN TRADING YESTERDAY.
Oil fell to $133-dollars a barrel after a record high of $139 dollars last week.

Funeral service for Jane Schatzman, the wife of Forsyth County Sheriff Bill Schatzman, will be held at 11am this morning at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Winston-Salem. Jane passed away on Friday of a heart attack.
