The Triad is under a Code Orange Air Quality Alert

Tropical storm Hanna will likely become a category one Hurricane before making landfall on Friday. Hanna at this point will impact the Eastern portions of North Carolina (mainly east of I-95).
Stay tuned to WBFJ for updates from the National Weather Service regarding Tropical Storm Hanna.
The National Weather Service has issued a dangerous Rip Current Warning for the coastal areas of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia until further notice with the approach of Hanna.

The National Hurricane Center is also keeping a close eye on two other storms in the Atlantic:
Hurricane Ike is getting stronger…now a category 4 storm. Tropical Storm Josephine is still out in the eastern Atlantic.

Update: The Children’s Village set up by the Audio Adrenaline’s Hands and Feet Project in Haiti has been devastated by Hurricane Gustav. All of the children and staff are safe but are now living in the one remaining home that was not damaged. The project's main storage building was destroyed by the storm.Hands and Feet Project saying that everything in the building has been lost including food, clothing, diapers, and tools.The Hands and Feet project says the village received more than 25 inches of rain in 24 hours.

Students in Davidson County that ride the bus will be Jammin Out to the Jonas Brothers and Jordin Sparks. The Davidson County Board of Education has approved the pilot program called Bus Radio. Davidson County will be the first school in the state to join the program. North Davidson High School, Welcome Elementary, Northwest Elementary and Midway Elementary schools are expected to be a part of the program.
