FYI: According to North Carolina law, children who are entering the sixth grade in public school on or after Aug. 1, 2008 or who are 12 years of age on or after Aug. 1, 2008, must have a Tdap booster shot if five or more years have passed since their last dose of the vaccine.

Major job-cuts at Hanesbrands. A total of 720 employees will be laid off. The company is shutting down two facilities in Eden, N.C. .

The FBI is investigating four major U.S. financial institutions whose collapse helped trigger a $700 billion dollar bailout plan by the Bush administration. The FBI is looking at potential fraud by mortgage finance giants Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, AIG and Lehman Brothers.

CHRYSLER IS GOING ELECTRIC BY 2010. The electric vehicles will have a range of 150 to 200 miles. Two of the Chrysler electric prototypes are based on current models: the Jeep Wrangler and the Chrysler Town and Country Minivan.

T-Mobile is the first cell phone carrier to use Google’s Android software. T-Mobile's G1 phone features a full web browser and uses Wi-Fi technology to connect to the Web. T-Mobile's G1 phone will sell for $179.oo dollars…about $20-dollars cheaper than an Apple iPhone.

A female TV news anchor who bears a resemblance to the Republican vice presidential nominee says she's been getting "hate mail and nasty phone calls" from viewers who think she's trying to copy Sarah Palin's signature style.
