Sad…but they had to go: 10 Autumn Purple Ash trees were cut down on the Quad at Wake Forest University on Monday. The ash trees were found to have bacterial leaf scorch. In all, 30 Ash trees will be replaced over 3 years on the quad with three varieties of maples.

A twelve year honor roll student from Burlington was stopped by police in Virginia last Friday morning. Yes, the 12 year old boy was the one driving. The 7th grader had driven 200 miles from home (from Burlington to Spotsylvania County near Washington, DC) by himself. Police found 2 loaded handguns on the front seat of the car.
